"...He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness..." He came to give us that which is for our benefit. Our picture of judgment is judgment executed in a forceful manner. Judgment is not a fearful thing when it is done with the desire to make things right. Judgment sometimes is given to spare us from something. God would apply these things for our good.
He tells us to be subject to higher powers - the government we are under. Though government be misguided, it was created by God for our good. We want to live in a society that has structure and order. The law is there for our protection. If there were no one to enforce the law, that would be bad. Judgment is a fearful thing for those that do wrong. If there were no law and order, you would have to take it into your own hands. The government has a purpose. Judgment sometimes is ministered for the benefit of the people.
The work of God in us makes this possible. We picture work as a way to satisfy our own needs. Paul says we should labor that we would have to give. Our labor, at times, can be what we give. Be thankful when God gives you enough to share. God can give us words that are good and will provide good to others. We want to be able to say things to others that will edify and help others endure. Do your words bring grace to the hearer? If you do, it takes God's spirit in you.
1 Timothy 1:3, 4
Our words could minister questions; questions about the things of God. Fables are a way people tried to get a message across. We need the truth - the word of God. Sometimes people minister to bring questions. The answer for any question is found in God and in his word. There are plenty of man's explanations. If we get what God said, it will bring grace, strength, and help to the soul.
Colossians 2:18, 19
There are some things we have not seen. Spend time on your experience and that which you know to be true. This is not a mind exercise. Christ is the head and from this head every other part is nourished and built up. God speaks to us directly at times. God also has us pass things around, through the connections we have with God's people. As the nourishment is ministered it ties us together (knots), makes a closer bond. By it we are increased by God. We have more of God. The understanding that comes to life helps us grow in God.
2 Peter 1:5-11
We need to add faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity to our life. If we do, we will never fall. If we don't, we are blind. If we don't have these Christian graces, we are blind. If you can't get some of these things, what do you see? Without these, whatever else you see is just "stuff". Spend time on what builds up your soul. "For an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." If we let Christ give what is needed, this is the way into the kingdom. Men are walking around talking about this kingdom, but haven't entered in. We want to share with others what will bring the grace of God to them.
