Plan to Do God’s WillBro. David Chancellor

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
You can have big plans for the year and there’s nothing wrong with it. Plan for a long life, but live like you’ll die tomorrow. You won’t accomplish much if you don’t plan, but don’t get carried away with it. Don’t let the dreams be the only substance in your life. You have to start for your dreams to be realized. You have to do something to cause things to happen. Don’t boast. Do. You’ll only accomplish as much as the Lord permits. As you dream, consider what God would have you to do. Think about what you can accomplish for God. Seek to know God’s will for you for this year. Seek to have an impact for God’s purpose and cause.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Making good use of the time = Redeeming the time. Set priorities. Decide what is and what isn’t important. Let your priorities drive the flow. Make good use of your life. Being wise is understanding the will of the Lord. It would be difficult for your light to shine if you had no problems.
1 Corinthians 7:29-31
But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoice not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
The time is short. You can’t afford to get too wrapped up in this world … it passes away. "And they that use this world, as not abusing it…" Don’t get wrapped up in things. God gives us what he gives us to use it. Think about what you’re pursuing.
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Paul was in prison but he still wanted to do God’s work. We want to know how to answer every man that by the effect of our lives they might be benefited. Be ready for the door of opportunity to open. Have grace when speaking to others.
1 Peter 4:1-2
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin. That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
