And he shall go no more out…Bro. David Chancellor

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly; hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation contain the 7 letters to the 7 churches. Nothing bad is said about the church in this letter, unlike the other 6 churches. This pictures what the church ought to be. This was written to the church in the "city of brotherly love" (Philadelphia). It was given by the one who is still in control … God. We want to be a people like the people written to here.
The church includes those that are saved by the blood of God. God wants it to be clear whether we are friends or enemies of his. It’s a wonderful thing to be part of God’s church, to be saved by his blood and to stand with him. This doesn’t mean that we’re independent and can do anything we want. Being part of God’s church means that we can walk with him and be overcomers.
"…and he shall go no more out…" A message that we’ve heard down through the years is "come out." When we’re following the Lamb, we don’t have to "go out" anymore. If you go in, you have to go out. If you become part of something man has organized, you’ll have to go out again. When Jesus puts you in his church, you can have a stand such that you don’t have to go out anymore. We don’t have to be part of man’s pen. When God adds you to his church, he can seal you with his Spirit, and you can have fellowship with everyone else who has the Spirit of God. When we stay with God, he will claim as his own. Get settled on Jesus and let him keep you in your place in his church.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, sith the Lord Almighty.
This is the message, "come out." We need to be separate from that which is not of God. There are those who claim to be Christians who don’t believe that Jesus is the Christ, and don’t believe what they read in the Bible. There are people who are unbelievers who would yoke up with people who believe that Jesus is the Christ. Muslim, Jew and Christian can’t worship together. It won’t work. There are some things to come out from. Jesus is the Christ, and you can’t leave him out of the salvation message. There is a separation between God’s people and the world. There are some things we had to leave behind to be with Jesus. We don’t want back what we left behind. There’s no reason to want to return to the sins that we left. Sin brings pain and suffering. We need to separate ourselves from sin, unrighteousness, and unbelief. God’s people enjoy fellowship with God and with those who have the same spirit.
And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
This speaks of coming out from Babylon. Babylon is conceived by, formed by and based on man. It is what you can join by man’s approval, and he can put you out of it, too. If you’ve joined what is designed and controlled by man, God says to come out. At some point that organization is going to come between you and the will of God. The things set up by man won’t keep things pure and right and good. It won’t keep the truth. The truth is in the word of God and it won’t change whether men agree with it or not. The truth revealed to the apostles is the truth we need today. Truth will be true in every age. A pure life is a pure life, no matter what point in history you live in. How we interact with others is the same now as it was then. God’s word is still true.
If you join an organization that man has made and controls, you’ll still have to come out again. If you walk with God and stay where he’d have you stay, and are with others of the same spirit, you don’t have to go out again. You standing in God’s church doesn’t have to change if you’ve been added to it and have been faithful to God.
For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven; Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
We need to understand what we’ve come to. We haven’t come to some literal, earthly thing. The law was a fearful thing. We’ve come to something better, to be part of the city of the living God. We’re part of this now. We can enjoy his presence in this life and have hope for eternity. We’ve come to the heavenly Jerusalem. God chose Jerusalem as the place to put his name. We can enjoy fellowship when we come together at the place where God has put his name – in Christ.
God’s church is a number we can’t number. We can’t decide who is in and who is out. We can only look at the fruits. The basis of fellowship is God’s Spirit in us. It isn’t up to man to keep the count on God’s church. God keeps the count. The church of the firstborn is of Christ. It takes in all the redeemed. No one is physically "born" a Christian. You’re not a Christian until you’ve been born again and believe in Christ. We came to God’s church and our names are written in heaven. Everything that God’s judgment came on in our lives has been left behind us. Now we can come to him as our Advocate and Friend. The blood has removed all that stood between us. Our spirits have been made right. We don’t want anyone to do wrong. We have something better than Abel’s martyrdom. We have a union with God. We can come to him and enjoy his presence. The religion of Christ produces good in our lives, but it isn’t a religion of works. We don’t need to earn our place in the family of God; we just need him to put us in it. We need to come to Jesus and stand with him. We need to enjoy the presence of others who have also come to Jesus and enjoy the same thing we enjoy. What we have found in Jesus draws us together. Stay true to Jesus and what he has helped you to know and understand. Come out from anything that would prevent you from doing the will of God and living a pure and holy life. The unity of the Spirit will be plain for others to see. People will see what a real Christian is and will want what we have. We can take our part in Christ’s church. He has put us in it, and made us a part of it, and we don’t have to go out anymore.
