Christ went to the country of the Gadarenes and found a man who had been possessed of devils for a long time. Any time the devil takes control of a person, he sets out to destroy, sometimes to the point of death. Christ would clean up each one that comes to him and straighten out our thinking. When God does something for us, we want to tell it to others. This country asked Christ to leave because they weren't quite ready for what he had to offer. Much of the world would ask Christ to depart. The one that was healed wanted to go, but Christ wanted him to go home and show what God had done. It's not just tell, but show. Show a difference has been made in you every day of the week. People could see that a change had been made. We have a responsibility to live a Christian life before others. If you want people to have confidence in you, let the fruit show forth. Because of this man's living testimony, the people were waiting on Christ when he returned. Are we showing others the work of God? We want to show as well as tell others about Christ. The clean life makes it telling. Show others the great things that God has done for you. Many people have religion, but there is no change in their lives. The world is afflicted today with "sensual religion." It caters to the emotions. When God comes into the heart, there will be a change - decency and modesty of dress and conduct. Go show what great things God has done for you. This man gave his testimony, but the ones he told could see the difference. Can the world see the difference in you? The fruits of the flesh and the fruits of the spirit are different.
Apollos knew what the Old Testament said, and was eloquent and fervent. He was limited in knowledge and understanding, but he shared what he knew. You don't have to know everything to speak for the Lord. God can help you if you will speak what you know. Be fervent in spirit. Apollos was diligent to teach and careful to teach what he felt God would have him to teach. He was teachable, as well as a good teacher. He was a good public speaker. He continued teaching fervently when he did more. Be fervent in spirit. Be enthused in sharing the knowledge you have.
Jeremiah decided that because he was being persecuted that he would keep quiet. Because of the fervency within, he HAD to tell. If you show, even though you can't speak, others will see that you are of God. Stay true through discouragement.
These are questions designed to make us think. God has done something for us, and we should be telling it. When God speaks, it should stir us up to speak. We should be inspired of God to speak.
They could not help but speak, because God had spoken and shown some things to them. Tell what God has done for you. Our goal is to inspire the faith of others; that God can do for others what he has done for us. Is it right to be quiet? No, let the world know what God has said. People aren't finding what they need by "just going to church." They need to find God.
1 John 1:1-3
We want others to know of Christ, so that they can enjoy his blessings too. If you don't enjoy it, don't share it. Others don't need a heavy load. Christ is worth sharing - by word and deed. Let others see what God can do. They need to see the difference God can make in a life. Go to those around you and show what God can do.
