Patience is the bridge between God's will and God's promise

Psalm 37:3-8

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Patience is the bridge between Gods will and Gods promise. It carries us from doing Gods will to receiving the promise. Part of the reason we serve God is because of his promises. Patience is essential. The only avenue for receiving the promises is patience. We also serve God because we love him. He takes care of us and he provides for us. Patience is essential to spiritual prosperity. Faith must be combined with patience. Many let their faith fail simply because they cant wait. Spiritual growth will not happen if faith and patience arent mixed. Endurance brings growth. The impatient soul will run from this for what appears to be an easier way. You dont want the reward of the impatient. Patience is not waiting; it is the quality of your wait. Patience is how you wait. Do you wait and fret, or do you wait and rest? Many wait because they have to. The quality of their wait is restless and fretful. Fret not thyself Do you wait and fret, or do you wait and rest? Patience combines trust, commission, and rest. We trust in the Lords unfailing love and faithfulness. Because of this trust, I can commit my whole situation into his care, and I can rest in the Lord. You can commit everything that concerns you into his care. Give it to God to worry with. Let God take care of it. As you commit it to God, you get rest in return. The soul that rests in God ceases from anger and fretting. When were impatient, think of the emotions that are there. Cease from these emotions and rest. There are great rewards for the patient.

Romans 5:1-5

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Trouble, difficulty, need and want work spiritual growth in us. If we trust God in it, and wait patiently, then an experience with God is worked. We see his care for us. This works hope and builds confidence in God. This shows the dynamics of how spiritual growth works. Everyone wants experience with God and a living hope; these things are the result of a patient trust in God. Be willing to endure a little trial to receive a great blessing.

James 1:3-4

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

One of the rewards of patience is that we will be entire and lacking nothing. Spiritual development comes through patiently enduring trials. Its the perfecting work of patience. let patience have her perfect work Dont abandon your patience. Let this patience work. Dont give up right before the Lord blesses you.

Psalm 34:8-10

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Have you tasted and found out that God is gracious? Dont give up on his graciousness.

Hebrews 10:35-36

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Its sad to see someone cast away his or her confidence. Dont give up the race. Keep confidence in all of Gods promises. Dont cast away your confidence in him. If youre doing the will of God, wait on your reward. Its a great recompense.

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Apply this to all of Gods promises. The things of this life will be taken care of if well seek God and wait patiently on him. Our part is obedience to God. Seek his kingdom and his righteousness first. Gods promise is to supply our needs. Patience is needed to receive the promise. Be patient.

Romans 8:24-25

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Faith is confidence that youll receive something you hope for. If you hope for something, youll patiently wait on it. Dont abandon your hope for something less than what God has for you.

James 5:10-11

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Behold, we count them happy which endure If you wait on God to bless you, youll be happy that you waited. If we wait, well be glad that we did. Gods way is better than our way. Wait on the promise vs wait on the one who promised. Wait on the one who will be faithful to fulfill the promise.

Hebrews 6:11-15

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises Faith is not complete without patience. Faith is handicapped if patience is not combined with it. When the Son of man cometh shall he find faith on the earth? The answer is yes only to those who are willing to patiently endure and wait. Those who wait are those who exercise their faith. Will he find faith in you? Are you willing to endure for a moment? Are you willing to endure some hardship and difficult and keep faith in God?
