Life, as we live for God, is not going to always be "...and they lived happily ever after." There will be things that will happen to distress and perplex and cause us to wonder why people act as they do. We don't want to be the cause of the offence. We might do so unintentionally from time to time, but we want to make things right. As we look at what lies ahead, our cry should be, "Lord, increase our faith." There will be things that will come to undermine and destroy our faith. We can see things where we would like to see God work and we can ask for an increase of faith to face these things.
Faith comes by hearing; but not just from hearing anything. It comes by hearing the word of God. Faith comes by hearing what God has to say. It is when God speaks to your heart. Just as Jesus taught his disciples, God needs to speak to our heart and teach us today. Your faith will be increased when you hear from heaven. God's word to us needs to be equally personal. We need to hear from heaven frequently. If you rarely hear from heaven, you will have weak faith.
FAITH is a fruit of the spirit, but faith is necessary to have more of the Spirit of God. God would give us something to increase our faith. We need more of the Spirit of God. We can seek, as Elisha did, for a double portion of God's spirit. The increase of the Spirit of God in the apostles also increased their faith.
Jude 20, 21
If you would build yourself up - build up on faith. Be strong in faith. Our needs will be provided through faith. We need motivation, courage, strengthening. These needs are supplied through faith, and only through faith. Prayer is one way to build up faith. If you never hear from heaven in prayer, you need to pray differently. Don't "deliver your wish list", but sit down and talk to God. If you go to God seeking answers, take time to stop and listen. If we hear what God has to say, our faith will be increased.
2 Corinthians 1:23, 24
"By faith ye stand." It will take faith and confidence in God to stand. It is worth it to go on through. Others don't have dominion over your faith. You might fail to increase in faith in spite of all others do, or you might increase in faith in spite of all others fail to do. There is a scale of faith in the New Testament (no faith, little faith, great faith). Where you are depends on your seeking God. There is responsibility on our part to grow in faith. Things will happen and you will be disappointed. Don't allow things to turn you aside. Seek God for an increase of faith. Faith is not something we want to lose. You can never have too much faith.
