Our Vision

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

The end of the verse implies a lack of vision of God’s law. We can’t say we lack a vision because of ignorance or lack of opportunity. The lack of vision doesn’t affect just you; it also affects others around you. We need to be a good influence on people around us.

1 Samuel 3:1

And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

God’s word wasn’t as readily available then. Those in the position to administer the word were being negligent. Eli’s vision was impaired. God spoke to him through Samuel, but Eli didn’t pay attention.

Proverbs 23:31-35

Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

Someone here had lost his vision. They get their eyes on other things. They get drunk on other things. The enemy would push us past what God has ordained. People are attempting to satisfy their soul with things that will never satisfy. Keep your vision clear. Keep it fixed on Christ and don’t doubt his word.

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

You can put a lot of effort into working for God and have it all undone by libel and slander. Stay with God and obey him. Don’t let go of your vision. Don’t abandon hope. Become more determined to see it through. When seed is planted, the labor is not in vain.

Ezra 4:4-5

Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building. And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

The enemy has agents. They come in various forms and work toward unbelief. Traditions can’t be held dearer than truth. Are we stopping short of truth because of tradition? There are still things for us to learn and to know. Keep reaching for more of God in your life. If you’re not gaining, you’re losing. Keep looking for higher ground.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

If we look at circumstances, we’ll hold back. Get your eyes off the opposition and on Jesus. Look to Jesus to help you overcome it all.

Proverbs 24:10-12

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Encourage people. Jesus will be there to help us through. If we faint, there are souls that won’t be delivered.

Psalm 27:13

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Believe that God will do great things. There’s a 7th seal earthquake that is to be greater than any that has ever been. God can work beyond one group of people. He isn’t bound to work through us. We can be used to help people grow. Be willing to work with God. Get a bigger vision. See what God is doing. Have a great vision. God can make things happen.

Romans 4:18

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Abraham believed when it seemed impossible and he was blessed.

John 4:35-38

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour, other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

Enter into the work of the harvest. This is the age of harvest, but it is also necessary to sow.

Psalm 126:5-6

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

We need to get under a burden. Carry the burden for souls. Sow the seed. God promised results.

Isaiah 32:20

Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.

Sow everywhere, even in places where it doesn’t look promising.

2 Corinthians 9:6

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Sow bountifully.

Isaiah 55:11

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

God is working even when you don’t see results. Have faith.

Matthew 10:34

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Some will cling to things God would have them let go of. Division happens because someone decided they don’t like truth. The word of God will accomplish its work. It will cut off evil. God desires people to be saved from evil.

1 Peter 2:11-12

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul: Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

The day of visitation is when God speaks to a person. It’s God’s mercy that we can deal with sin here and have it taken care of. Now is a time to work and be sowing seeds. Look for a great revival. Don’t be disappointed. At the least, you’ll save your family.

1 Timothy 2:1

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

If nothing else, pray and make intercession. You can help with the work that way. Work in partnership with God.

Romans 11:31

Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

We want mercy for others. We want mercy to prevail. Intercede for them.

Revelation 3:15-19

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

If you’ve lost your vision, repent and change. It’s an exciting time and we can see God do great things. Get a true vision. Help others see where Christ is, so that they can come together. Get a vision and sow. Do your part.
